Troels Staehelin Jensen, Prof., MD, DMSc.
Troels Staehelin Jensen, MD, DMSc is professor and former chair of the Department of Neurology, Aarhus University Hospital, founder and past director of the Danish Pain Research Center at Aarhus University and currently Director of the International Diabetic Neuropathy Center at Aarhus University, Denmark. He obtained his degree of doctor of medical sciences from the University of Aarhus on work in part carried out at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN, USA. He completed his postgraduate clinical fellowship at the Hôpital de la Salpétriere in Paris, France, and his residency in neurology at university hospitals in Aarhus and Copenhagen. He has had research fellowships to the USA and guest professorships to other countries including USA and Germany.
Dr. Jensen has authored many peer reviewed scientific papers on various neurological and neurobiological topics mainly related to experimental and clinical pain. His H index (web of Science) is 85 and with >28.000 citations)
Dr. Jensen was president for the Scandinavian Association for the Study of Pain (SASP) from 1987-92 and was president for International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP) from 2005-08. He recently served as IASP liaison for South East Asia.
Dr.Jensen has received awards for his research and was knighted by Her Royal Highness the Queen of Denmark in 2006 and with 1st degree in 2016.
